A delicious twist on traditional French dips using Texas toast for added flavor and texture.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Texas toast
  • 1 pound roast beef
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Arrange the Texas toast on a baking sheet and toast for about 5 minutes until light golden brown.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over medium heat.
  4. Layer the roast beef and provolone cheese on half of the Texas toast slices.
  5. Pour the hot broth mixture over the beef, then top with the remaining slices of Texas toast.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the sandwiches are heated through and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve with extra beef broth for dipping.

  • For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed mushrooms or peppers to the roast beef.
  • Adjust the seasonings according to your taste.
  • This recipe can easily be halved for a smaller serving size.
