Ingredients
Scale
1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons red food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
24 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup crushed Oreo cookies for topping
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, mix crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter. Press it into the bottom of a springform pan to form the crust.
In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla extract.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
Pour the red velvet batter over the crust.
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and eggs, beating well. Finally, mix in sour cream until well combined.
Pour the cream cheese mixture over the red velvet layer in the pan.
Bake for about 60-70 minutes, or until the center is set. Let it cool completely.
Top with crushed Oreo cookies before serving.
Notes
For best results, refrigerate the cheesecake overnight before serving.
You can use more or less food coloring to achieve your desired shade of red.
