- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup honey
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (hazelnuts or almonds)
- 1 cup candied citrus peel
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the honey and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add the egg and stir until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, spices, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chopped nuts and candied citrus peel.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.

- For a chewy texture, do not overbake.
